Free one day course for Healthcare Assistants who provide basic woundcare and dressings under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner.
Course content includes:
- Anatomy and Physiology of the skin
- The stages in Wound Healing
- Assessing wounds – when to refer
- Aseptic or clean technique?
- Dressing types
- Removal of sutures and staples
- Application and removal of steri-strips
- Legal issues
- Record keeping
